This alpaca beanie with its double row of hearts border is hand-knit from all natural alpaca raised on a local farm.

Alpaca is one of the warmest fibers known, yet silky and light-weight. Pure luxury. Alpacas are related to llamas but are smaller in size and have a much softer fleece. Many people sensitive to sheep wool wear alpaca comfortably. This alpaca comes from Borgstein Alpaca Farm in Medfield Massachusetts. It has been has been spun and processed into small batches of super fine, silky soft, natural and luxurious un-dyed yarn. The colors are the colors of the animals in the herd. They are not dyed.

The original design uses 2 color stranded knitting incorporating a double row of hearts circling the hat. It is knit in the round so there are no bumpy seams. Brim is a stretchy rib knit.

Hand wash in cool water, wrap in a towel to blot out extra water, air dry flat.
Note: Washing in a conditioning shampoo can enhance the soft appeal of this fiber.
