Handwoven Wool Coasters: Spring Pastel Stripes Mug Rugs
Mug-rugs and coasters handwoven by me in Portugal. Design features spring shades of violet, mauve, periwinkle blue and green against a cream background.
Size: ~4.25" x 4.5"
Fiber: wool, lightly felted, woven on a rigid heddle loom.
Coasters are so helpful at home in sopping up drips and preventing iced drinks from sweating and dripping onto tables. Protection against those rings!
We stayed in Portugal for several weeks this winter. I negotiated extra luggage space so that I could bring some tools and yarn. These pieces of cloth are the result. I did the felting in my washing machine when we got back home. The colors in this set evoke an early spring flower garden.
