I make these from #10 cotton crochet thread combined with metallic threads to make them sparkle and shimmer when the light hits them - a little extra festive touch. A commercial fabric stiffener gives them body and substance. I use publicly available patterns for their design, adding my own touches as I go.
They add a lovely nostalgic feeling to holiday decorations. My mother and grandmother used to make these. I have tried to make them more contemporary with color and treatment decorations.
String several up into a garland.
